GNU Source-highlight 2.8 has been released. It is available from
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/src-highlite/ and mirrors of that site (see
list of mirror sites at http://www.gnu.org/order/ftp.html).

GNU Source-highlight, given a source file, produces a document with
syntax highlighting.

You can also find details about new features of source-highlight on my
blog, in this area:
http://tronprog.blogspot.com/search/label/source-highlight.

At the moment this package can handle

* C/C++
* C#
* Bib
* Bison
* Caml
* Changelog
* CSS
* Diff
* Flex
* Fortran
* Html
* Java
* Javascript
* Latex
* Logtalk
* Log files
* Lua
* Makefile
* M4
* ML
* Pascal
* Perl
* PHP
* Postscript
* Prolog
* Python
* Ruby
* Shell
* S-Lang (new)
* Sql
* Tcl
* XML

as source languages, and

HTML
XHTML
ANSI color escape sequences
LaTeX
Texinfo
DocBook (new)

as output format.

Source-highlight depends on the Boost regex library
(http://www.boost.org/) so you need to install this library (boost
libraries are usually shipped with most distributions).

Source-highlight can also generate cross references; in order to do this
it relies on GNU Ctags, http://ctags.sourceforge.net.

Version 2.8

* lang definition for slang (by John E. Davis)
* correctly handle words in ' and ` regular expression strings
* the right delimiter of a delim element can refer to marked
subexpressions in the left delimiter
* fixed the definition of C-style comments which are not nested
* improved perl syntax highlighting
* javascript regular expression highlighting
* padding character for line numbers can be specified (thanks to
Roger Nilsson)
* removed non standard % make rules

Visit the Source-highlight home page at
http://www.gnu.org/software/src-highlite

Anonymous CVS access is also available. Please visit
http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/src-highlite/
where you can find detailed descriptions of how to access the CVS
(read-only). Release-candidate versions are available
through CVS.

Bug reports should go to bug-source-highlight@gnu.org.

The following mailing lists are available:

* help-source-highlight@gnu.org, for generic discussions about the
program and for asking for help about it (open mailing list),
http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-source-highlight
* info-source-highlight@gnu.org, for receiving information about
new releases and features (read-only mailing list),
http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-source-highlight

if you want to subscribe to a mailing list just go to the URL and follow
the instructions, or send me an e-mail and I'll subscribe you.

cheers
Lorenzo

I have the great pleasure to let you know that Aeneas version 1.1 has
been released. This version is a GNU standardization of the package.

Please, feel free to download Aeneas from one of the following links

http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/aeneas/
http://www.gnu.org/software/aeneas
http://www.southnovel.eu/aeneas_sources.htm

Aeneas is the GNU package for 3D Monte Carlo semiconductor device
simulations covered by 3D tetrahedra meshes. Aeneas is released under
GPL 3 or later.

Please remember that development of Aeneas is a volunteer effort. You
can also contribute.

Happy hacking!

Jean Michel

SouthNovel Software Foundation supports GNU packages for semiconductor
devices simulations. At the present time the founder of SouthNovel has
already released Aeneas and Archimedes under GPL license which are now
two GNU packages. They are, respectively, 3D and 2D simulators for
submicron and quantum devices of general shapes (covered by tetrahedra
in 3D and by rectangles in 2D). Our MC simulators are among
the most advanced in the world and have the great advantage of being
released under GPL license, which gives you the right to run, modify and
redistribute the sources of these simulators. For more informations, please

GLPK 4.21 -- Release Information
********************************

Release date: Aug 28, 2007

GLPK (GNU Linear Programming Kit) is intended for solving large-scale
linear programming (LP), mixed integer linear programming (MIP), and
other related problems. It is a set of routines written in ANSI C and
organized as a callable library.

In this release:

Additional reasons for calling the callback routine used in the MIP
solver (glp_intopt) were introduced. Currently the following reasons
are supported:

* request for subproblem selection
* request for preprocessing
* request for row generation
* request for heuristic solution
* request for cut generation
* request for branching
* better integer solution found

A basic preprocessing component used to improve subproblem formulations
by tightening bounds of variables was included in the MIP solver.
Depending on the control parameter pp_tech passed to the routine
glp_intopt the preprocessing can be performed either on the root level
or on all levels (default) or can be disabled.

Backtracking heuristic used by default in the MIP solver was changed to
the "best local bound".

For more details see Chapter "Advanced API routines", Section
"Branch-and-bound interface routines" in a new edition of the reference
manual included in the distribution.

See GLPK web page at <http://www.gnu.org/software/glpk/glpk.html>.

GLPK distribution can be ftp'ed from <ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glpk/> or
from some mirror ftp sites; see <http://www.gnu.org/order/ftp.html>.

MD5 check-sum is the following:

a41df71415c97fc5c541d19547ced10a *glpk-4.21.tar.gz

GLPK is also available as a Debian GNU/Linux package. See its web page
at <http://packages.debian.org/stable/math/glpk.html>.

GNU xhippo 3.5 is now available from ftp.gnu.org:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/xhippo/xhippo-3.5.tar.gz
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/xhippo/xhippo-3.5.tar.gz.sig

xhippo is a GTK-based frontend for command-line music players. This
maintainance release is probably only of interest to people who're
already using xhippo; it contains a few small bugfixes, a significant
cleanup to the build system, and a license update to the new GPL.

I'm currently rewriting xhippo from scratch with a different
architecture and a cleaner UI; if you're interested in trying out the
rewrite, it's available from <http://offog.org/code/potamus.html>.

Thanks,

Due to the continuing level of effort required to support BIND 8, ISC
has decided to change the status of BIND 8 to 'end of life'.

ISC strongly encourages users who depend on BIND 8 to migrate to BIND 9
as soon as possible.

It's never easy to retire a product. The security issues of BIND 8 are
many, and 7 years after the release of BIND 9, ISC must devote our
efforts to maintaining and enhancing the current version. BIND 9 was
always intended as a replacement for BIND 8, thus there are no more BIND
8 releases planned beyond 8.4.7-P1, being released today.

Please see ISC's website at http://www.isc.org/sw/bind/bind8-eol.php for
additional information and migration tools.
